Special Education Teacher

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, developing and implemeting developmental programs for children with learning difficulties in the 2.5 to 14 years age group. You will plan and develop Individual development programs for these children to develop their full potential in the academic and sicial domains. Your key responsibilities include
- Plan, develop and implement instructional programs and activities to facilitate learning in the classroon setting.
- Plan, develop and implement Individual Education Plan (IEP) for children to support them in their development and learning. Monitor and provide regular reports on children's progress.
- Prepare and execute strategies / activities that will help children generalize their learining at home and in community settings
- Work with OccupationalTherapists, Speech Therapists, Educational Psychologists and other Allied Professionals to identify developmental needs and implement intervention strategies in the clarrom.
- Work with parents to extend the learning objectives and intervention strategies to the home.
- Participate in regular Parent-Teacher meetings to collaboratively review progress and develop learning plans
- Full GCE 'A' Level or Diploma (for untrained teachers)
- Diploma or Degree in Special Needs Education (for trained teachers)
- Good English communications skills (Written and oral)
- Passionte about working with children with learning disabilities
- Able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
