Senior Director, Ems

**Core Responsibilities**:
1. TECHNOLOGY COMPONENTS MANUFACTURING (Operations Management)
- Responsible to lead all Tech Components factories of the LEGO Group
- Review regularly factory management performance focusing on delivery, quality, OEEs, factory costing and scalability.
- Lead the internal LEGO operations teams per geographical location from a multi-functional perspective.
- Be the face towards the internal customers (TLG packing sites and Truvant) and handle their requirements/issues.
- Work with Process Engineering team actively on Test platform implementation, line balancing and CAPEX portfolio.
- P&L and Balance sheet responsibility for all EMS factories in CAPEX, OPEX, OOP via frames and progress reporting.

2. STRATEGIC OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (Key Account Management)
- Lead the operations strategy for Electronics Manufacturing.
- Define the global EMS footprint to deal with the global OPS footprint hereby considering the Operating Model requirements.
- Manage the global relationship with the external manufacturing partners including footprint optimizations to serve our businesses.
- Global contract owner with EMS manufacturing partners on behalf of the LEGO Group with the GAM team members.
- Define with the manufacturing partners and the Director of Systems/Modules/Moulded parts, and propose BOM component offerings.

3. PROJECT PROCUREMENT LEADERS (PPL & NPI)
- As overall owner responsible to train, assign and monitor performance of the PPL s in the NPI Process hereby realizing timely delivery of supplier project contribution in time, quality, cost and scale.
- Represents Parts External Manufacturing (PEM) both from procurement and manufacturing perspective in gates and key meetings.
- Represents EMS in the Risk Assessment meetings hereby owning the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) metrics.
- Budgeting the Component NRE and CAPEX/OPEX for novelty projects and manage the cost within budget set.
- Work actively with the Tech Component PMO office in PMD (and its PEM rep) on Portfolio Management (in preparation of the meetings) both in terms of budget and portfolio capacity/capability.
- Manage JDM projects hereby bridging Tech Component Design streams combined with Manufacturing streams.

4. RISK MANAGEMENT
- Own and run the resilience streams hereby leading the dependency on the EMS partners versus identified risks.
- Define the geographical footprint within the context of geopolitical context, Operating Model and dependency risks.

5. RELATIONSHIP / PARTNER MANAGEMENT
- Drive partner management which is, due to its criticality in the Digital System Play, on high level.
- Ensure strong collaboration with the innovation teams and product technology teams which are located globally.
- Ensure close collaboration with Quality, Process Engineering and Supply Planning leaderships within the contribution this role plays in the OPS Strategy.

6. PLAYGROUND LEADER
- Lead a global and multicultural team with respect for Diversity and Inclusion, attention for capabilities development.

This role covering both all electronic manufacturing for the LEGO Group and the external plastics assembly manufacturing. The Operations function comprises of both the procurement accountability from Contracting, Supplier Performance as Global Account Management as well as the full Operations Accountability covering Operations metrics for supply, quality, manufacturing and process engineering. The function covers both New Product Introduction (NPI) - novelty as after launch operations.

**Do you have what it takes**:

- Experience and track record are more relevant than specific education. Master’s Degree in Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering are preferred; MBA will be a plus.
- 15 years or above relevant working experience in capacity of operations manager, NPI manager or EMS procurement lead within the Electronics Contract Manufacturing Industry.
- Negotiation Skills in areas of costing, CAPEX and maintenance contracts, joint development agreements and other agreements.
- Understanding cost structures and cost modeling of EMS contract manufacturing (SMT, Test Platforms and Box building).
- As Operations Manager experience with manufacturing operations at scale (including OEEs, MTMs).
- Strong negotiation, communication, influencing and analytical skills with ability to develop & lead supplier and partner relationships on global and senior level.
- As a people Leader, being able to develop global teams from different diversity and seniority level.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
