**This role is line managed by Project Manager, and Directors or other persons as delegated/ appointed by above
**Competence Requirements**
- Personal Track Safety Certificate
- Minimum 10 years experience of practical railway engineering construction including design, maintenance and development
- Proven technical, engineering and managerial experience and be conversant with all relevant rules, regulations, codes of practise and Company Standards
- Working knowledge and understanding of competence requirements for technical engineering railway safety critical works
**Role Summary**
- In this role you will be expected to keep abreast of all existing and new relevant legislation, Company Standards, Codes of Practice which may impact upon the company’s operations. To ensure that employees under your control or third parties are trained and/or briefed to understand the technical requirements of their tasks whilst complying with the prescribed safe systems to the best of your ability and using your training knowledge and competence to the required standards
- Maximizing productivity and profit without compromising safety, quality or the environment and without importing risk to the Rail Infrastructure, the Travelling Public and yourself or your fellow workers.
- You are required to undertake all duties that may reasonably be required by your immediate Manager.
**Post Specific Responsibilities include the following:

- Overseeing and Managing
- New Construction of Trackwork, Ballast and Slab Track
- Replacement works to existing tracks, working under possessions
- Knowledge and Familiar withTamping Operations
- Welding Operations (Flashbutt and AT)
- Specialist Track Machinery knowledge
- Prepare construction programme
- Co-ordinate with Internal parties and ensure deployment of resources to achieve programme
- Co-ordinate with client team as necessary on Construction activities and Planning
- Review and monitor progress against programme, and implement mitigation as necessary to ensure baseline is achieved or bettered
- Review manpower, tools and equipment costs against budget to ensure project remains in budget
- Identify areas of productivity improvements or cost savings
- Prepare Method Statements and briefing information on technical standards and legislation for incorporation in production and service delivery procedures.
- Report regularly on the Project and company’s technical compliance and risk assessment activities under your control or supervision.
- To provide full support to the Company and Line Managers in implementation of all Company strategies, policies, requirements and Customer requirements.
- Undertake duties as Track Handback Engineer wherever required or instructed by Company.
- To comply with all relevant Legislation, Contractual Standards and all procedures and instruction contained within the Management System applicable to your role.
**Qualifications**
- At least Degree/ Masters Degree in Civil Engineering
- Min. 5 years experience in Construction Manager’s role
- Experience in the Railway Industry - Trackworks
- Good analytical and leadership skills
- Good communication skills
