**Overview**

The Transaction Monitoring (TM) Team exists to ensure that in-scope DB systems are at all times being used in accordance with the legal and regulatory Anti-Money Laundering framework within the APAC region, and to escalate issues of concern to AFC Management in a timely manner.

Accurate and defendable thresholds on scenarios and rules in the Transaction Monitoring ecosystem is foundational to the smooth operations of the AFC Transaction Monitoring functions. There is a direct dependence on quality of alerts generated as well as efficiency and productivity considerations in the financial crime operations unit.

The tuning and optimization (T&O) lead reports to the APAC AFC Head of Modelling and Data as part of the wider APAC Anti-Financial Crime Team. The main focus of the APAC tuning and optimization lead will be to ensure accurate computation of active scenario and rule thresholds in the TM ecosystems in APAC.

The T&O lead will also be responsible for engaging the Above the line (ATL) and Below the line (BTL) testing teams to ensure that the requisite updates to thresholds are catered for. The T&O lead will need to work closely with internal stakeholders to develop appropriate controls and standards around scenario thresholds, as well as liaise with global counterparts.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Primary responsibility for computing scenario thresholds based on operating model processes and controls
- Engage data stakeholders to ensure that comprehensive data reconciliation controls are in place for data used by T&O processes
- Design dashboards using visualization tools (for e.g. Tableau) to present threshold computations
- Be familiar with concepts around static and dynamic segmentation attributes
- Investigate apparent breaches of compliance standards or controls and make recommendations as appropriate and track corrective measures
- Monitor post implementation operations pertaining to thresholds and provide feedback to internal partners and stakeholders as part of continual improvement
- Troubleshoot issues and lead problem solving, in particular for Regional AFC segmentation and scenario threshold matters

**Your skills and experience**:

- Working knowledge and experience in threshold computation in an AFC Transaction Monitoring ecosystem
- 6+ years of experience in an AML/CTF role with strong focus on data science in a banking / FI ecosystem
- Working experience on large enterprise class data analytics and MI projects for an AFC ecosystem
- Experience working with Regional and Global regulatory environments, with practical knowledge of threshold computation techniques
- Experience in threshold testing concepts pertaining to ATL and BTL testing
- Demonstrated experience in analytics platforms (SAS, R etc.) for data mining and statistical analysis
- Experience in Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Excel, MS Access. Working knowledge of data manipulation functionality in MS Excel and pivot tables
- Experience in data visualisation tools such as Tableau /Power BI.
