The Pre-Registration pharmacist is to demonstrate commitment to achieving professional competency standards and meet registration requirements within the stipulated timeframe, as well as assist in providing safe pharmaceutical care (in accordance to good pharmacy practice and legal and organisational requirements) during the course of training.

**Responsibilities**:

- Use patient-centredness and patient safety as guiding principles in all aspects of work during the course of pre-registration training
- Assume ownership of own pre-registration training, including but not limited to taking initiative to learn, completing assignments and learning log, meeting deadlines, maintaining proof of competency, keeping track of own progress and integrating into the workplace
- Demonstrate awareness of his/her own limitations, not assume and seek assistance when difficulties and problems arise, seek out answers to questions encountered and clarify with pharmacists to revert in a timely manner
- Conduct oneself with the highest degree of professionalism at all times and embody the SPC Code of Ethics for Pharmacists, MOH Public Healthcare Code of Conduct as well as NUHS vision, mission and values
- Assist in medication management in assigned area(s) of work to ensure efficiency, zero-wastage and in accordance with best professional practices
- Review, under supervision, medication orders (medication chart or prescription) for appropriateness and intervene with prescriber or follow up where necessary
- Ensure medications received by patients are packed correctly and dispensed within target turnaround time
- Explain, under supervision, medication therapy, side effects, instructions for administration and storage conditions correctly
- Provide, under supervision, correct drug information to patients and other healthcare professionals by utilising a systematic way for information gathering and synthesising appropriate responses
- Ensure that all prescription, sales, supply, storage and distribution of medications, as well as their documentation, comply with legal requirements and relevant regulations
- Ensures that personal conduct and all areas of work comply with policies / procedures and practice standards established by the organisation

**Job Requirements**:

- Registrable degree with the Singapore Pharmacy Council
- Successful completion of two PECT rotations within NUS BSc(Pharm) curriculum
