**What the role is**

Senior Scientist (Food Product Development)

**What you will be working on**
- Lead centre’s research activities in food technology and alternative proteins.
- Conducts advanced research, and new product research and development of foods.
- Assume technical responsibility for the development, validation, and implementation of projects
- Prepare project reports, deduct significance of results and conclusions, and make presentations of findings to management as pertinent to complete assignments.
- Execute applied research projects in food product and process development, sensory evaluation and scaling up of prototypes.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders and manage research projects and ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Investigate different processing techniques and formulation approaches to optimize the sensory properties and nutritional profiles of food products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, suppliers and academic institutions to explore and integrate emerging technologies into the research and development processes.
- Develop new and improved methods and systems for food processing, production, quality control, packaging, and distribution.
- May specialize in particular branch of food technology and be identified according to branch of food technology, but have adequate knowledge about other branches.

**What we are looking for**
- Qualification in Food Technology/Food Processing/related areas with minimum 5 years of experience in the industry
- Proven track record of leadership, working on industry-driven projects
- Strong technical expertise and industry experience in food packaging and shelf-life studies will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated diplomacy in building strong relationships with different stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercising a moderate level of judgment in project execution.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Team-player who is also able to work independently.
- Excellent understanding of R&D and operations in Food Technology.
