SICS- Research Fellow (Human Development domain)

Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS) is currently looking for an ambitious Research Fellow to investigate the associations between exposure to outdoor spaces and a range of health outcomes in Singaporean families from the local birth cohorts. We are particularly interested to explore the relationships between green space exposure and cardio-metabolic, neuro-developmental and mental health outcomes in children. Insights generated from this project will inform development of future nature-based solutions to improve health outcomes in the local families.

**Job responsibilities**:

- Conceptualise research questions
- Liaise with other scientists and clinicians to define project scope in line with other ongoing research activities
- Independently lead data analysis
- Lead manuscript preparation
- Assist with a range of research activities, including obtaining the necessary approvals and other administrative matters
- Assist with conceptualisation of nature-based interventions to improve health and wellbeing in the local population

**Requirements**:

- PhD in a relevant discipline with a strong publication record
- Proven excellence in statistical analysis methods
- Proven experience with first author scientific publications
- It is essential to have a strong research background in at least one and ideally several: motor activity, outdoor exposure, nature exposure, cardio-metabolic health, executive functioning, mental health
- Knowledge in analysing and interpreting actigraphy data
- High motivation, ambition and enthusiasm about behavioural research
- Attention to detail
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary team
