Our client-partner company is in the market to look for a **Climate Change Leader, Asia**, based out of Singapore or Hong Kong. Dominant and leading the niche area of Environmental and Social (E&S) Due Diligence, Management Systems, and Lender Advisory, Our client group of directors have the most recognised and respected sustainability professionals in the field and brings 150 years of sustainability management consulting experience across the Region.
With the continued growth of the business, we are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual who wants to be part of a growing organisation in Asia, especially on the topic of #Sustainability and #ClimateChange.
The Climate Change Leader, Asia, will be working with Financial Institutions and Multinational Organisations across emerging markets. Many of them are at the forefront of embedding climate change considerations in their day-to-day approach to business. We are looking for an exceptional star who has technical and strategic management experience in;
- Climate Change Strategy and TCFD
- GHG Reporting
- Carbon Offsets and Management
- Climate Change Risk Assessment and Scenario Analysis
- Resource Efficiency
- Physical Climate Change Risk and Adaptation
- Asian Context about the regulatory environment on Climate Change
The role is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual looking to develop a climate change business with an established, growing and thriving ESG consultancy.
**Capabilities**
- Responsible for supporting the development of a climate change practices in Asia
- Accountable for managing climate change projects in emerging markets
- Able to recruit, manage, coach and mentor junior staff

- Build and maintain relationships with our clients, and other industry players
**Experienced**
- Practical experience in TCFD and scenario analysis
- Solid track record of direct experience in relevant energy and climate change standards such as the GHG Protocol and IPCC, IS014064, IS050001 etc.
- Direct experience in developing or auditing carbon offset projects
- Experience and understanding of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) process
- Experience in resource and/or energy efficiency
- An excellent grasp of the English language (including written English). A second language of relevance to the geographies in which we operate would also be viewed favourably
- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on high-quality outputs
- A good understanding of other sustainability standards, including the SDGs, GRI, SASB etc
- Be able to analyse and interpret technical information to understand and articulate the potential risks and commercial consequences and be able to propose pragmatic recommendations
- An ability to translate and communicate complex and technical ideas in a simple and engaging way
- Be entrepreneurial with a capacity to spot and turn more significant market trends into opportunities for clients and IBIS
- Excellent people skills, being able to engage and foster relationships across geographies and cultures
- Be passionate about sustainability, risk management and maximising opportunities.
- Tenacity and focus and be a self-learner
**Skills**
- Experience in broader sustainability / ESG work, including strategy, reporting, and assurance, is an advantage.
- Experience in Sustainable Finance, specifically working with DFIs, private equity and banks
- Direct on-site experience in resource efficiency, including identifying and quantifying energy and carbon reduction opportunities.
**Qualification**
- A minimum of up to 10 years of practical experience delivering climate change projects within the business in Asia.
- Consulting experience is essential.
- Educated to at least a post-graduate level in a scientific, engineering or business field combined with a high level of practical ability and experience.Tags
