Head, Safety & Quality Governance

**Job Purpose**
Reporting to Head, Trains Safety, Security and Quality, the Head, Safety & Quality Governance will undertake a role in areas of Safety and Occupational Health management for SMRT Trains. This includes the planning and spearheading the implementation of processes, programmes and procedures.

**Responsibilities**
The Head, Safety & Quality Governance is to fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed below. Note that the list is not exhaustive; related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
- Develop, plan and drive Safety and Quality management programmes in Trains in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and other international standards.
- Ensure Trains is kept current with all Safety and Quality related government legislative acts, regulations, advisories, and code of practices etc.
- Oversee Safety and WSH-related policies and regulation implementation in Trains.
- Review and translate Workplace Safety, Fire Safety and Transit Safety Statutory requirements into processes and procedures.
- Review and oversee the Quality Management System in Trains.
- Review and approves WSH aspects of modification works performed in Trains.
- Scan and highlight industry WSH incidents and lessons learnt, industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Oversee the development and execution of annual workplan for the department.
- Plan and oversee the WSH Competency of all staff in Trains and in the Department
- Plan and manage the budget of the Department

**Qualifications & Work Experience**
Knowledge and Qualifications:

- Degree from recognized institution, preferably Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of the Singapore WSH, Environmental Protection and Fire Safety Legislations, Codes of Practice and Singapore Standards, ergonomics, and human factors
- WSQ Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C) & MOM-Registered WSH Officer is preferred
- Aptitude and Soft skills:

- Results-oriented and able to independently create and deliver
- Excellent leadership skills, with good communication and interpersonal skills to influence and motivate team members
- Possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organization skills
- Resourceful, strong analytical, and excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to multi-task and work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Work Experience:

- At least 10 - 15 years of work experience related to WSH and at least 5 years in Management capacity with proven track records in Safety Management System and Quality Management System implementation.

**Skills**
Technical skills include:

- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Proficient in Data Analytics Software would be advantageous
- Generic skills include:

- Possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organization skills in a big organization setting.
