Planning Manager, Greater Asia

Job Description Summary

The Planning Manager role is responsible and accountable for the overall demand/supply management process for the assigned business segment via the robust execution of the S&OP processes. He/ She will rotate the supporting business segment which includes Medical, Diagnostic and Biosciences on a bi-yearly or yearly basis.

Regional Demand Management responsibilities include direct supervision of the Regional Demand Planners under the assigned business segment. He/ She will establish strong linkage with Business/ Marketing to have clear understanding of business direction and development of appropriate supply chain action plans to support. This position owns the monthly regional demand review process, accountable for the region forecast accuracy and ensures alignment of forecast with global and regional business strategies.

Regional Supply Management responsibilities include direct supervision of the alert management process, creation of long and short term supply to support regional demand and inventory requirements. This position also owns the monthly supply engagement review process, accountable for customer service and inventory levels and drives appropriate supply chain action plans to improve supply predictability. All Supply Planners under the assigned business segment report into this position.

As a leader in demand/supply planning in the region, this position is expected to play an influential role in working with the WWBU, understand changes and managing escalation. It is also imperative that he/she plays a key role in developing supply chain planning talents to create a learning organization leveraging on the concept of Centre of Excellence and Business Partnering in S&OP, demand, supply and inventory planning so as to elevate the maturity of the team to support future growth and complexity of Greater Asia.

**Job Description**:
Demand Management
- Provides leadership to a team of Regional Demand Planners in the management and aggregation of Asia Pacific demand.
- Analyzes and validates the demand at worldwide business level. Ensures market intelligence, risk and opportunities, new product introductions, conversions and rationalization are captured. Assess the impact of market changes or significant variances in the forecast and recommend appropriate revisions and tactics.
- Builds strong partnership and planning collaboration between country and region to increase seamless engagement.
- Ensures alignment of planning strategies with global and regional business strategies. Understands the market segments for the different businesses, and adapt the right planning process to serve the segments profitably.
- Owns the allocation process to help the region to secure more inventories and to balance the real inventory needs at the country level.
- Partners with AP country supply chain leaders to assist them in the implementation of Business Partner role to increase business focus, customer collaboration and effective forecast management.
- Works with Global Supply Chain team on the annual long term planning to support business budget.
- Monitors supply chain metrics performance and drives improvements as required to meet or exceed the targets.
- Accountable for overall region forecast accuracy and ensures alignment of forecast with global and regional business strategies.

S&OP
- Implements a sustainable expanded regional and country, cross functional, Sales and Operations planning process with global input / alignment for all WWBU.
- Builds strong collaborative relationships with functions involved in the process such as Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing operations, Finance between World Wide, Region and Country.
