**Overview**
The Assistant Theater Coordinator is an exciting new role at SAS to support the running of our vibrant Visual and Performing Arts Department.
The Assistant Theater Coordinator will support the Production Manager (Theater Coordinator) to ensure the delivery of SAS’s main artistic program, including numerous in-house productions and associated club activities.
Singapore American School’s Performing Art Center is a work based learning environment. Incorporating students into the production process is an important part of how this department runs. Finding time for students to be involved, delegating tasks to them and empowering them to run the Lighting, AV and Stage Management is essential. The role also involves administrative tasks and working with other departments.
**Responsibilities**
Duties shall include, but are not limited to:
- Co-producing all venue and technical requirements for events, concerts and festivals with the Production Manager
- Leading and managing the Theater Specialist Team on their projects.
- Arranging and hosting Production Meetings
- Managing the booking system for the performance spaces and working with the Production Manager (Theater Coordinator) to resolve any conflicts
- Managing the Eventbrite ticketing system
- Liaising with teachers and support staff across the campus
- Educating the students of the roles and responsibilities in a theater
- Attending rehearsals and performances
- Scheduling of the team and casual staff with the Production Manager
- Keeping documents organized in the shared drive and archive as needed
- Using google sheets and google docs to manage production information
- Working with our Staging and Rigging specialist to manage our props, set and costume stores
- Monitoring and leading our Theater Specialists on their projects and maintenance
- Manage budget, receipts / invoices and payments
- Processing orders
- Booking in vendors / contractors for site visits and work
- Perform other duties or appropriate requests as assigned by the Theater Coordinator (Production Manager).
Training will be provided for this role.
**Contract and hours of work**
- Full-time Position
- 12-month rolling contract 40 hrs / week flex schedule
- Shifts offered are completely dependent on the needs of the school and applicant will be informed of their shifts in good time to respect a good work - life balance.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.

**Desired Skills**:
- A competent leader with good knowledge in the areas of lighting, audio-visual technology, and stage setup, capable of effectively executing a successful production.
- A passion for the arts and/or music and working with young people
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Strong sense of responsibility for your work
- Confident use of IT and able to work online efficiently and responsibly
- Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, Mail, Slides etc.
- Good knowledge in Theater Management, Lighting, AV, broadcast equipment
- Good Experience working as an in-venue technician working on both the productions and the maintenance is important to us.
- Ability and willingness to work safely at heights.
- A good level of understanding and respect of Work Health and Safety legislation and procedures as related to the theater and entertainment industries
- Experience in writing Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessments and SOPs
- Enthusiasm towards developing your skill set yearly using the provided PPD fund.
- Support students and provide feedback to help them improve (through the support of the Theater Coordinator).
**Optional qualifications**:
- Diploma / qualification in Technical Theater / Theater Management.
- Vertical upright platform lift license.
- Work At Height Qualification.
