Stenographer

Provide high-quality verbatim transcription for live captions for events
- Able to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of non-English phrases
- Liaise with clients on event needs, logistics, setting up of system and troubleshooting if required
- Conduct editing remotely or on-site at the event based on the client’s request
- Do pre-event preparation and research to enhance accuracy of the live captions
- Clean up and deliver post-event transcript based on client’s request
- Improve the live captioning workflow and process for better quality and turnaround time
- Support the team in transcription and subtitling projects

**Job Requirements**:

- Possess at least one year of stenography experience
- Expert shorthand speed of at least 180 words per minute
- Possess own machine for stenography
- Strong reading comprehension - be able to understand the speaker’s words quickly and accurately; ability to understand the Singaporean context and accent will be a plus
- Meticulous and carry out necessary research/checks to ensure the correct use of words before the event
- Good team player, proactive, communicates and works well with the rest of the team and clients to get accurate work delivered on time
- Resourceful and self-motivated to learn and grow
- Able to learn new software tools quickly and devise actions for improvement
