The POSTGRES DBA will be responsible for handling operational tasks including Hardware Architecture, Architecture, Configuration, Integration, and maintaining mission critical Production PostgreSQL databases along with other DBMS Technology stack.
- Estimate PostgreSQL database capabilities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage
- Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need of downtime.
- Strong Understanding of command line and Linux Operating Systems
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, Disk space
- Knowledge on Problem analysis and solution implementation
- Undertake database patches upgrades and maintenance tasks
- Responsible for database performance review to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release.
- Responsible for Regular Backups check (Physical and Logical) using Control-M tool
- Proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL
- PostgreSQL Clustering, Replication and Partitioning
- Familiar with Tools like i.e(pg_dump,pg_basebackup,repmgr,High Availablity,Control-M, and PGAdmin)
- Experience in Cloud like GCP for PostgreSQL DB
- Significant experience working with cloud-based PostgreSQL services (GCP preferred) with a focus on production deployments.
