**Job Description Summary**: As a Lead Engineer in the Repair Technology Center of Excellence - Inspection organization, you will provide leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes focused on key measurement technologies for the repair team. In this role you will utilize your metrology experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

As a Lead Engineer in the Repair Technology Center of Excellence - Inspection organization, you will provide leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes focused on key measurement technologies for the repair team. In this role you will utilize your metrology experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In this role you will be required to:

- The focus of this role is to identify, develop, industrialize and globalize metrology or dimensional inspection technology for the services network.
- Meet with customers to determine the requirements for dimensional measurement technology development
- Develop the project plan and establish resource requirements
- Conduct and or lead the dimensional measurement technology development effort
- Validate the performance of the measurement technology
- Drive the implementation of the measurement technology use in repair shops and facilities
- Follow business and design review practices of GE Power and Water during the execution of the development effort

Applicants must meet these qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Physics or equivalent
- At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position
- Designing, developing and implementing industrial component dimensional measurement equipment, processes and fixtures
- Working knowledge of optical based dimensional measurement technologies
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestic and international 5-10%

Desired:

- Demonstrated experience in the development and industrial implementation of optical based measurement technology
- Masters of Science in Engineering or Physics with a focus on metrology
- Experience with global team project execution (leveraging project resources located in global locations)
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
