**SUMMARY OF ROLE**

You will be a strong mentor and coach and be empowering and uplifting. You will have experience leading teams and hiring the best talent. You will establish and monitor performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. You will collaborate with internal partners to deliver strategic solutions and coordinate approach to key strategic suppliers. You will work with our senior most executives in driving our objectives and creating a vision that delivers projects safely, in a timely manner and cost effectively.

Typically he will communicate regularly with many other professional, including leadership teams in operation and finance, project managers, engineers, production workers, sales representatives and administrative workers. He is also in direct communication with vendors and suppliers to handle queries, make agreements and improve the purchasing process. To better understand every aspect of procurement, the Director may attend regular meetings with other teams.

The Director, Global Procurement reports to the COO.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintaining knowledge of the market, in addition to current prices and fair rates for goods
- Planning policies and procedures for efficiently, honestly, economically and productivity purchasing goods for supply chain production and operation.
- Monitoring, reviewing and analysing bids and quotes with suppliers, including the negotiation of service agreements and contracts
- Overseeing sources for purchasing supplies
- Maintaining company budget and streamlining costs

**RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

**Minimum requirements**
- Computer skills, good communication skills, planning and organizing skills.
- Experience gained from a reputable manufacturing organization and formal training or certification in Lean Manufacturing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Assertive and confident in dealing with different kinds of people from various cultures.
- Possesses characteristics such as self-discipline and self-motivation.
- Proven leadership qualities.
- Required language: English.

**Preferred requirements**
- Experience in training or facilitating a technical work force
- Knowledge in Statistics is an advantage
- Knowledge in digitization of a manufacturing site
