Description of Role:
Singapore’s largest supplier for ornamental aquatic plants is looking to hire a position to perform micropropagation of aquatic plants. As Micropropagation Coordinator, you will be responsible for introducing new plant varieties into the production pipeline. Occasionally, you will be required to assist in the maintenance of various plant species for sales. The role is also responsible for preparing sterile culture media and initiating and sub-culturing the different type of aquatic plant cultures.
Job scope:
- Formulate and prepare media for experimental plants
- Divide and transfer tissue cultures to meet production goals using plants using proper cutting techniques
- Initiate and maintain new plant varieties for tissue culture
- Develop and optimize culture protocol
- Meticulous and independent with an eye for detail to screen cultures for quality and contamination
- Ensure quality is maintained throughout the production line
- Conduct research where necessary and contribute new ideas to improve the lab's efficiency
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Biotechnology or Life Science-related discipline
- Relevant experience in plant tissue culture work or use aseptic techniques in a laminar airflow hood will be an added advantage.
- Be able to work independently whilst being a strong team player
- Have an interest in plants and an inclination towards laboratory work that requires manual dexterity.
- Meticulous, patient and able to work under pressure to meet targets.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Company transport is provided at designated locations. Lunch is provided.

**Salary**: $2,200.00 - $2,600.00 per month

All employees are required to wear masks. Laboratory is a sterile environment, employees are required to weak surgical face masks, gloves and hairnets while working (provided by the company)
**Education**:
- Bachelor's or equivalent (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Tissue culture: 1 year (preferred)
- botany: 1 year (preferred)
- Research laboratory: 1 year (preferred)
