Library Administration:
a) Support day-to-day operations and administration of the Library

b) Ensure Library is ready for opening by performing checks every morning on the cleanliness of premise, newspapers and new arrivals are displayed, that all equipment and lightings are functioning

c) Liaise with relevant divisions on facilities management, IT and security matters

d) Operate the Library Management System eg. book borrowing, book search, circulation, cataloguing

e) Manage the inter-library loans to support the information needs for library users

f) Ensure compliance with Library Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”)

g) Any other library-related administrative duties assigned by the Librarian

Reference and Information Services:
b) Guide and conduct searches on electronic and web-based databases such as LexisNexis, Newslink, print and non-print resources

c) Support current awareness /alert services to create awareness of Library resources by creating resource factsheets relating to new database articles and/or Parliamentary Bills.

Collection Maintenance & Development:
a) The personnel shall work closely with the Librarian to recommend, source and maintain a collection of print and electronic resources.

b) The personnel shall liaise with suppliers/vendors for the acquisition of new resources (print and electronic), renewal of serials (print and electronic) and subscription/renewal of online databases.

c) The personnel shall be responsible for handling all aspects of the acquisition and collection maintenance exercise, including:

- Complying with the rules on procurement in calling for quotes
- Processing library items on the LMS including barcoding all library items and attach holdings, process weeding as instructed by the Librarian
- Receiving and processing gift titles received by the Authority for the Library’s collection

Promotion of Library’s Services:
a) Library information guides: develop / update guides/information flyers for use by Library users

(b) Maintain online content on the Library’s webpage to ensure that all resources uploaded are accessible, relevant and up-to-date

The on-site personnel is to familiarise himself with the Library Management System used in the Library. On-the-job training on the use of the systems will be conducted by Library staff.

Library Security:
The personnel shall be responsible for the security of the Library which includes the following activities:
a) Ensure that the doors of the Library are locked at the end of the day;
b) Switch off all non-essential computers and office equipment in the Library at closing time for the day;
c) Be responsible for the security of the books in the library; and

d) Report any anomalies e.g. incident of theft or loss of equipment to the Librarian immediately.

Working hours:

- Mondays to Fridays**:9.00am to 6.30pm**:

- **every month, there is one session need to work 11am to event ends.**

**Requirements**:
(a) A recognized diploma (preferably from a local polytechnic) with at least 4 years’ of relevant working experience in an library/resource centre/research institution;
(b) Possess good research skills and is able to synthesize and present information clearly;
(c) Service-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills;
