Consultant Technical Director

Singapore Baseball and Softball Association (SBSA) seeks the service of a Technical Director for a 1-year term (with the possibility of an additional year’s renewal). This position will report to the President of SBSA.
**General Administration**
- In conjunction with the Vice President (Softball), develop annual budgets as they relate to the technical programmes;
- Expand relationships with our current and potential partners e.g. WBSC & Softball Asia, various national softball federations;
- Ensure all softball programmes undertaken by SBSA adhere to SafeSport Initiatives & WADA regulations from a planning perspective;
- Design, develop and manage performance analytics for all levels of softball representation under SBSA with the operational support of the HPE National Coaches and Team Managers and;
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the SBSA Council.
**Elite Athlete Development**
- Plan, promote and implement all elite player programming with the operational support of the HPE National Coaches and Team Managers, and SBSA HPE Manager;
- Implement stage appropriate training aligning with the LTAD Plan with the operational support of the HPE National Coaches and Team Managers;
- Improve and formulate ways of improving HPE Teams’ (including age group teams) ranking in WBSC tables and;
- Improve and formulate ways of improving HPE Teams’ (including age group teams) medal performance in WBSC, SA & regional softball tournaments (e.g. Asian Games & SEA Games).
**Coach Development**
- For HPE National Coaches
- Identify & groom two future national team head coaches
- Identify & groom two future technical directors
- Mentor coaches to analyse, formulate & develop a strategy for teams to recruit players and implement a winning long-term coaching plan
- For SBSA-certified coaches
- Identify & groom new coaches
- Identify gaps in SBSA’s SGCoach programme & implement necessary changes (through changes to SBSA’s SGCoach Programme with the operational support of SBSA’s Coaching Commission)
- Identify & improve bottom 10% of local coaches
**Grassroots Player Development**
- Plan, promote & implement all grassroots programming: U12 (Mixed), U15, U18, U23
- Plan age-appropriate softball tournaments for the purpose of scouting potential age group and high-performance players with the operational support of the SBSA’s HPA Events group
- Grow sport & increase reach of softball locally by 10% annually
- Develop & implement children’s programme under the auspice of the SBSA Academy by way of:
- Hiring & developing Coaches for the Academy;
- Developing curriculum;
- Formulating recruitment strategies and;
- Implementing recruitment strategies to attract participants with the operational support of Academy Coaches
**Qualifications**
- Knowledge & experience of developing LTPD plans for other national softball programmes
- Knowledge & experience of coaching national softball teams
- Experience in playing softball (considered an advantage)
**Competencies**:
- Strong managerial and team-building skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders (volunteers, coaches and players of all ages)
- Ability to work independently with good time management, organization and problem-solving skills
