Android Development Engineer

Singapore RINGS.TV PTE. LTD. Full time

Collaborate with the design and product teams to create a world-class mobile experience across various screen sizes
- Work with other members regarding APIs and UIXUX to define both the technical and user interfaces
- Translating requirements into correctly designed new features
- Develop and deliver agile and cost-effective solutions
- Work closely with product managers and data analysts to drive product evolution
- Raise the bar by reviewing each other’s code and generally help out

[Mandatory Requirements]
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors with at least 3 years experiences in native Android development.
- Intermediate or above Chinese proficiency (required to work with Mandarin speaking associates on a daily basis)
- Expert in Java with plenty experience in native Android development using Android Studio.
- Excellent at writing well architected code using design patterns such as MVC, MVVM and MVP.
- Proficient in multiple thread handling, asynchronous programming, caching, data storage and security, and network IOs
- Familiar with REST API, Git, Proguard, Firebase, RxJava, Retrofit, Event Bus, etc...
- Experience with Gradle for build flavour configurations, dependencies and resource management and CICD tasks
- Be able to understand and debug large and complex codebase.
- Creative thinking backed by understanding of computer architecture, data structures and algorithms, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork, coordination, and planning, self-driven, and ability to work with remote teams
- Worked with custom views, strong UX/UI design exposure and experience in making apps work intuitively and with pixel perfect interfaces.
- Highly accountable and take ownership with collaborative attitude:

- ‘Your Problem Is My Problem’ (YPIMP).

[Nice-to-haves]
- Experienced in websocket, deeplink, hybrid mobile development
- Experienced with CICD and testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Robolectric, Espresso, and Test Labs)
- Experience developing on latest 4 Android OS versions, generally understand the key differences and new features in each OS versions.
- Prior experience in managing Google Developer Console and develop on published app
- Prior experience in converting Java into Kotlin
- Strong CS fundamentals (with Big O notation and data structures)
