**What the role is**
- The Role
The Latin America team is part the Americas Division at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Our mission is to advance and diversify Singapore’s economic interests and engagement with the markets of Latin America - a region that is fast-growing and dynamic, and which offers strong potential in both the traditional (e.g. manufacturing, infrastructure, trade) and emerging (green, digital, technology and innovation) sectors. In the course of our work, we engage a range of partners and stakeholders - government agencies, private companies, business chambers, thinktanks and universities - to grow mutual understanding and build bridges between Singapore and Latin America at the government, business and people levels. We seek to open up new market opportunities for Singapore companies, position Singapore as a trusted partner in Asia, and ultimately champion and grow trade and investment between Singapore and Latin America.

**What you will be working on**
- Your Responsibilities
As Deputy Director, you will lead an energetic and dedicated team tasked with the responsibility of managing and growing Singapore’s economic relations with Latin America. You will work closely with the Director and a team of 4 on creative and innovative ways to grow our Latin America accounts, often in collaboration with other colleagues in MTI and our economic agencies.
You will support your team to:
a) Track and analyse key geostrategic and economic developments and trends in your markets, and assess their impact on Singapore’s trade and investment interests.
b) Formulate and review strategies and initiatives that enhance Singapore’s bilateral and regional relations with Latin America, particularly with the Pacific Alliance (comprising Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru), and Mercosur (comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay).
c) Drive efforts to establish and promote the implementation of trade-enabling agreements with Latin American economies, such as free trade agreements, and other thematic or sectoral cooperation agreements, such as, but not limited to, green and digital economy agreements.
d) Build network and relationships with foreign governments and business representatives.
e) Represent MTI in bilateral and regional meetings, negotiations, visits and other platforms in Singapore and Latin America.
