The Institute for Pedagogical Innovation, Research and Excellence (InsPIRE) is established to advance innovative pedagogy, empower educators and inspire students.

The NTU education strategy is leveraging learning analytics to improve teaching and learning. This data engineer position would be critical in ensuring that we are able to achieve our learning analytics strategies and milestones on time.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Propose and execute effective ways to continuously enhance data and AI governance.
- Continuously build the education datahub Propose effective ways to continuously enhance data quality, performance of educational data hub and data science machine learning platform
- Fulfil data request from the education datahub expeditiously
- Support all learning analytics projects internal and external to ATLAS and InsPIRE in terms of their data needs.
- Support all AI projects relating to teaching and learning internal and external to InsPIRE (particularly ATLAS) in terms of their AI modelling needs.
- Come up with strategies to ensure that InsPIRE (particularly ATLAS) meets audit requirements while also fullfil the needs of the requesters/proposers.
- Manage and maintain data and IT infrastructure for all offices at InsPIRE and to ensure smooth operations by agreed deadlines.
- Set up any new system required for any new initiatives for all offices at InsPIRE.

**Requirements**:

- At least a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software or computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics, or a related field.
- Certification in any analytic platform (such as Azure, AWS, Denodo, etc.) would be a bonus.
- At least 7 years of work experience, including at least 5 years in of technical experience in data virtualisation, data science platform, Cloud AI/ML technologies and data governance.
- Strong listening, persuasive communication, and networking skills.
- Strong ability in translating user needs into a data engineering problem.
- Strong understanding of data science or analytics and governance.
- Technically competent in areas such as python programming, SQL, share point, or system administration
- Experiences in managing logical data warehouse, lake, lakehouse, mesh, fabric, etc is ideal
