Project Title: Constructing Values - Meanings and Implications for Practice in Singapore’s Pre-school Education Curriculum
Project Introduction: Currently, the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL): A Curriculum Framework for Kindergartens for 4 to 6-year-old children (MOE, 2012) is under review by the Ministry of Education and the refreshed framework will emphasise four core values in early childhood education. This qualitative study aims to unpack what the core values mean in the local context. The findings will inform the articulation of local definitions and understandings that will help curriculum developers and pre-school teachers to design lessons and resources to teach values education more explicitly.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree (with good honors) in Social Sciences, Education or related fields
- Possess minimum three years of research experience in qualitative methods
**Responsibilities**:
- Search, read, and organise literature review
- Liaise with research participants, coordinate interviews and focus group discussion sessions
- Collect and transcribe data from leaders and teachers from various centres
- Coordinate data collection and oversee storage and archival of data
- Undertake project administration
- Support report writing
- Other project duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)
