Job Scope of a Teacher

1. Plan and implement curriculum and programmes:

- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworks
- Design developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources to enhance quality of learning environment
- Evaluate documentations of children’s learning and development to better

inform planning and teaching
- Customize classroom management strategies
- Review health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures

2. Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships:

- Foster relationships with families to facilitate the continuity of care and learning between home and centre
- Coordinate activities between families and community stakeholders
- Engage families, caregivers, community stakeholders and volunteers to develop programmes and services

3. Manage family and community programmes
- Develop and implement centre, family and community initiatives and programmes
- Develop outreach activities to promote centre programmes and services
- Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements

4. Conduct routine caregiving:

- Conduct and review results of routine caregiving assessment
- Guide routine caregiving practices according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Evaluate routine caregiving improvements

5. Uplift professional practice
- Promote Centre’s vision, mission and core values
- Co-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools
- Identify areas for improvement to enhance work performance
- Propose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities

Job Requirements
- Must have Advanced Certificate in Early Years or other relevant qualification
- Must be EY2 certified
- More than 3 years of experience in ECCE
- Passionate about children and their development
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office - Word
- Good interpersonal and organization skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to communicate well with internal & external customer.
- Good command of English or Mandarin - verbal and written
