Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain/update existing Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR). Transition data into Weld Eye Software and lead its training and implementation.
- Develop new Welding Procedure Specification(s), Welding Procedure Qualification Record, as required. Liaise with customers and external parties on all welding related matters.
- Establish and maintain procedures for production welding and welding personnel, to ensure compliance with specifications, processes, and heating requirements.
- Assist with creating / updating work instructions that convey the technical requirements (WPS, Consumable control etc.) of applicable International Standard.
- Identify material grade based on Positive Material Identification (PMI) reports. Work with Project team in the selection of appropriate welding process and WPS. Review route sheets.
- Monitor weld inspection and NDE inspection results to ensure compliance with the welding procedures and standards. Provide disposition for welding related NCRs.
- Conduct weld quality meetings to review welding performance.
- Monitor welding performance and weld quality issues at Oil States and its approved vendor facilities, in the Asia Pacific & Middle East region.
- Participate in supplier audits / new supplier qualification. Approve the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) of suppliers.
- Arrange for material testing and analysis. Review results and where applicable, investigate failures. Liaise with laboratory for all testing related to material and personnel qualification.
- Assist with welding process improvements, support the implementation of changes in welding methods (including techniques, procedures, welding machines) for gains in productivity and process efficiency.
- Consult relevant OSI subsidiaries, agencies, customers etc, to exchange ideas, information and/or technical advice.
- Perform all other reasonable duties as required by Manager.
- Participate, as required, in Quality and HSE audits from API and other external organizations.
- Ensure compliance with the Oil States Industries’ Quality Management System and HSE system.

**The Person**:

- Degree in Welding Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in welding engineering.
- Proven track record in achieving target weld quality and performance with strong technical, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Applied knowledge of welding activities for all types of steels including carbon steel, stainless steel, high and low alloy steel.
- Knowledge of international codes such as API 1104, API RP5C6, API 5L, API 6A, API 16A, API 16F, API 16C, ASME Sec IX and AWS D1.1.
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.
- Excellent organizational skills and be prepared to work as part of a team.
- Pro-active & self-driven who is also able to engage positively in team’s work & development.
- High ability to adapt to changes & work under pressure as well as tight timelines.
- High level of commitment to achieve results, collaborates effectively towards achieving the agreed targets.
