**Duties**:

- Analyze and interpret data to inform decision making.
- Verify and validate analysis results.
- Write statistical computer programs and algorithms.
- Use relational databases to extract and transform data.
- Develop innovative approaches to analyze data.

**Qualifications**:

- You must meet the following basic requirement and a specialized experience requirement to qualify for the mathematical statistics series.
- Basic requirement:

- Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics. or Combination of education and experience
- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Specialized experience:

- Your resume must show that you have one year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade in the federal service in the following: For more information on the qualifications for this position, click here: OPM Mathematical Statistics Series 1529
- Developing and executing approaches for analyzing, interpreting, visualizing, and verifying complex data and analyses. Examples of complex data and analyses includes but is not limited to data wrangling, dynamic macro programming, big data visualization, dynamic parameter dashboards, sample allocation optimization, causal analysis, multivariate regression in both Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood frameworks, and random forests.
- Experience mentoring staff on modeling approaches for complex analyses such as, but not limited to, multivariate regression in Bayesian or Maximum Likelihood frameworks and machine learning algorithms (e.g., random forest, neural networks).
- Writing detailed technical reports and papers, to disseminate results to both technical and non-technical audiences..

**Education**:
