A Research Associate position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, engineering, and test-bedding of working prototypes of chemical reactors for thermochemical conversion of biomass and plastics into valuable products- Catalyst product formulation and testing- Improvement of processes for gas conversion into value-added products (e.g., pyrolysis, syngas generation, hydrogen production, carbon nanomaterials synthesis)- Prepare technical reports, standard work procedures, risk assessments, and technology descriptions for intellectual property protection- Prepare presentation decks for various audiences (scientific community, industry partners, government agencies, investors)- Write and publish research papers- Supervise junior colleagues

Job Requirements:
- M.Sc. Degree in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering or in a closely related field to Chemical and/or Environmental engineering- Experience in pyrolysis, gasification, heterogeneous catalysis, solid sample characterization, chemical reaction engineering, process engineering- High proficiency in English is essential to conduct research- Able to prepare a well-written technical report, research paper, proposal- Able to prepare a decent quality presentation deck- Able to build formal and informal partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives- Able to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances- Able to create new and better ways, advance technological progress and make the project successful- Able to develop junior teammates to meet the project goals- Good chemical engineering background, communication skills, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness are essential to succeed
