Singapore ACUMEN ENGINEERING PTE LTD Full time

Commercial Analyst role is to conduct fundamental analysis of the global polyolefin market to support trading decision of Ravago’s global trading & distribution network. The position also supports a variety of commercial projects within the group.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage supply/demand analysis for the group’s key products: polyolefin. Responsible for regular monitoring and reporting of key market drivers (capacity, feedstock, trade flow, inventory, policy, etc.)
- Regularly interact with a network of global traders to get most updated market intelligence on suppliers, offers, competitors, synthesizing internal intelligence and market data to come up with market forecasts. Organize group calls among the global resale network.
- Contract management of 3rd party data (e.g. ICIS, ChemOrbis). Assist with meeting data needs of the global commercial operations.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc analysis support for other products of the group (styrene, engineering plastics, natural & synthetic rubber, chemicals)
- Conduct hedging activities and manage net positions for Ravago’s natural rubber business, provide regular market input particularly from Asia perspective.
- Consult on a variety of commercial projects (e.g. proposal of offtake agreement with suppliers, identifying M&A targets, assist in regulatory filings, etc.)
- Manage the group’s activities on paper trading. Act as contact person with banks on derivatives. Provide solutions for hedging needs within the group.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Marketing or Statistics, Business, Economics, MBA or a relevant degree is preferred.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in market analysis, with a strong track record of understanding the commodity market.
- Proven track record of successfully developing market analysis and data visualization to support the business with market intelligence
- Industry knowledge of the petrochemical business strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, good at taking initiatives, comfortable working in a matrix system in large corporation with minimum supervision
- Ability to speak effectively and present summary findings to senior leaderships
- Ability to read and speak mandarin required for China market
- Understanding of futures trading and derivatives highly preferred
- Willingness to work across different time zone
- Proficiency in using Tableau and MS Office tools, especially Excel
