**Your role**
- Are you some who enjoys looking at investment risks in a fast-paced environment? Do financial markets excite you? Do you enjoy discussing risks with portfolio managers and interfacing with decision makers across the firm? We are looking for a Director to:
- Perform value-add analysis on funds managed in APAC, communicating results to key stakeholders
- Identify, summarize and provide input on key risks of funds, escalating where appropriate
- Participate in regular discussions with portfolio managers to understand the funds strategy in conjunction with its risk profile
- Understand the credit worthiness and control counterparty risks of Funds/Mandates arising from derivative and securities financing transactions
- Liaise with various control and support functions to ensure an efficient and robust implementation of Risk Control procedures and policies
- Prepare synthesized market commentaries and analysis relevant to our Funds
- Support senior risk managers with strategic risk initiatives and contribute to completion of risk reviews
- Review of global businesses to enhance and standardize processes and analytics with the aim of bringing risk oversight to industry’s best practices
- Serve as senior representative in Asset Management governance committees, AM Chief Risk Officer updates, and in dealing with management teams
- Actively contribute to review of new product launches and assessment/approval of new funds and financial instruments
- Support reviews all new business initiatives and complex transaction requests, providing well-thought recommendations to senior management for approval
- Ensure regulatory requests are dealt with in a disciplined, comprehensive and timely manner

**Your team**
- You'll be working within Asset Management Risk Control team in Singapore primarily covering Equity portfolios. The team is a control function that implements the firm’s strategy by providing independent oversight and challenge of all financial risks arising from the firm's business activities. Your role will include close interaction with portfolio management teams as well as senior management, regulators and clients. The role reports into the AM APAC Head of Risk Control.

**Your expertise**
- ideally 10+ years relevant experience covering Equity asset class (preferred but experience in other traditional strategies, i.e. Fixed Income and Multi-Asset also acceptable), from a Risk Control / Portfolio Management / Quantitative role
- BA / BS in Finance / Mathematics / Engineering with Master's degree or CFA designation a plus
- excellent and proven verbal / written communications and analytical skills
- strong understanding of risk management techniques including concepts such as Value-at-Risk, Liquidity risks, Stress testing and Portfolio Theory
- teamwork-focused individual who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced global organization among senior-level colleagues and other control functions
- able to challenge and influence business and portfolio management to ensure high degree of portfolio oversight
- someone who have a strong interest in markets and able to articulate key risks across asset classes
