**Summary**

This position is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation and maintenance of the hotel; and provide assistance to projects and works while conform to brand standards as well as Local Government Legislation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists the Chief Engineer in the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.
- Ensure proper planning and upkeep of the general maintenance programme.
- Carry out general room inspections and preventative maintenance inspections including the scheduling of all these works.
- Prioritize maintenance work orders and complaints in accordance to the department standards.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in planning and implementing Fire Safety related issue.
- Provide support to the Fire Safety Manager in carrying out annual fire safety procedural drills and evacuation exercises in the Hotel.
- Prepare, record and administer reports for the department.
- Supervise and check on repair work completed by staff or contractor.
- Inspect the maintenance standards of the guestrooms.
- Maintains swimming pool and equipment in good working condition.
- Responsible to liaise with term contractor on servicing schedule.
- Implement and maintain training systems to ensure that team members have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.
- Take personal charge of any major equipment breakdowns and emergency situations in the Hotel.
- Responsible for the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc on a routine basis as required by the local authorities.
- Be fully familiar of the Emergency Procedures, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures as established by the Hotel.
- Assist in safety and emergency training for all employees.
- Perform other duties as directed by the management.

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant work experience
- Good management and supervisory skills
- Ability to undertake work pressure and correspond independently with contractors
- Preferably possesses a Fire Manager Certificate
- Excellent communication skills
