Membrane Technologist

We are looking for a **Membrane Technologist, **who will enjoy working with membrane product development for the water industry, to join our Commercial Engineering department at Aquaporin Asia.

**Aquaporin Asia Pte. Ltd **. is a subsidiary of Aquaporin A/S, a water technology company leveraging biotechnology and chemistry to deliver innovative membranes that incorporate nature’s own water filter - the aquaporin protein. Our main goal is to develop superior membranes that purify water, recover resources and create new products in the beverage space.

As part of an international and dynamic team, you will plan and execute membrane coating experiments to reach our ambitious membrane performance targets. You will take part in testing the performance of the membranes and in the discussion of the results with the leading scientist. **Your key tasks will be**
- Coordinate design, procurement, assembly, installation and troubleshooting of workstations for characterization of membrane performance and for various membrane processes
- Coordinate design, procurement, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting for customized tools and devices required to meet operational requirements
- Design, establish, and fine-tune testing protocols for characterization of membrane performance considering relevance to different needs in development and production
- Schedule and execute membrane performance testing and treatment, including all preparation, data collection, data analysis, documentation, reporting, and regular maintenance / servicing needed
- Maintain inventory records and tracking of membrane samples used at both internal facility and clients’ sites
- Perform risk assessments and safety evaluation, maintaining good lab and production practices to comply with internal safety standards and local regulations, including prompt and regular housekeeping of work premise
- Assist in managing utility, assets, and supplies for pilot production and testing workspace to meet operational demands, including but not limited to tools, chemical and consumables
- Assist in preparation for membrane pilot production
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required as per project basis

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science, or similar
- 1-2 years of experience with membrane production, prototyping, fabrication and/or testing is preferred.
- Experience in food industry processes will be considered a plus
- Capable of identifying and debugging problems in processes, products, equipment, and working for solutions.
- Independent, organized and responsible.
- Data analysis skills are an advantage.
- Competent in both written and spoken English.
