**Overview**
An audiologist is an allied health professional who works with individuals who have ear problems including hearing and balance difficulties. The job scopes include conducting comprehensive assessments for hearing and auditory-related disorders, and/or balance system, as well as providing rehabilitative intervention to these individuals to improve their communication through technology and counselling.
Job Responsibilities*
You will be responsible for the following**:
Clinical responsibilities and duties
- Competent in performing diagnostic audiological assessments that are deemed necessary and appropriate for patients, and provide clear interpretation of test results and reliable diagnosis.
- Provide hearing aid services and management plan to patients (either adult or paediatric).
- In addition to the core services above, you will be provided opportunity to be trained in sub-speciality areas such as paediatric audiology, central auditory processing disorder, implant management, vestibular assessment etc.
Administrative responsibilities and duties:
- Update and keep safe patients’ databases and any relevant patient log or inventory.
- Facilitate in ordering, shipping and receiving of hearing aids, implant devices, accessories and clinic consumables from vendors.
- Assist in any ad-hoc assignments (i.e. in-service lecture, quality improvement project) given by RO.
**Requirements**:
**Qualification**:
- Minimal requirement of a Bachelor in Audiology (Honors). A Masters in Audiology is preferred.
- CCC-A/CCP/CAC/registered/certified audiologist (in other countries or with the Society of Audiology Professionals Singapore) is preferred.
**Experience**:
- Clinical experience of 1-2 years in a similar setting is preferred.
- Relevant experience such as clinical support from hearing aid and cochlear implant companies is a bonus.
**Skills and Knowledge**:
- Analytical, organized with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate well with hearing impaired individuals
- Familiar with some hearing aids and implant devices in the market.
- A good team player who is able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Enjoy working with people e.g. adults and young children and their families.
- Affable and approachable.
- Possess a passion for helping people with hearing loss and other disabilities.
- Able to work calmly and methodically under pressure from a busy and varied caseload.
- Able to comply with NUH policies and procedures, health and fire safety regulations.
- PC literate.
