**Position Purpose**:
Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for maintaining the knowledge base regarding existing and emerging competitive materials and competitors to Eastman’s Specialty Plastics offering. This knowledge should encompass a comprehensive overview on capacity and product developments at key competitors, product performance attributes, competitor growth strategy, cost position, and sustainability strategy. By continuous monitoring of these key developments, the analyst will assist in the creation and updating of competitor profiles and assist in the development of dashboards to disseminate the insights through the SP organization. The analyst will be a part of the Product Management team and will contribute to projects and create insights that will shape business decisions and strategic choices for Eastman’s growth and its transition to the more circular economy.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor public information sources including news sites, company reports etc., and third-party market intelligence sources subscribed to by Eastman to generate insights on key products and markets we are active in.
- Cultivate and maintain a network of secondary and industry resources to expedite knowledge base development
- Work closely with partners from other teams including Eastman’s Corporate Strategy division to ensure that the key insights on competitors are generated and gaps in our understanding of the industry structure and competitor environment are covered
- Conduct primary research/discovery with both internal and external stakeholders
- Support in designing research that informs market analyses across a broad range of competitive products; these analyses could include broad market analyses like cost curves, supply/demand modeling, sustainability trends, price modeling, etc.
- Structure research results to generate insights and to effectively communicate the data and the insights back to the organization.
- These could be in the form of newsletters, company profiles, strategy reports and presentations to the key stakeholders in the commercial and product teams
- Creating basic excel based analytical models and dashboards
- Maintaining access and content in competitive intelligence sharing sites in SharePoint and Teams environment
- The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will collaborate closely with product teams and market segment teams to understand their competitive intelligence needs and develop plans to gather information and insights to inform development of a winning strategy.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in technical studies (engineering or related) or business studies preferred
- Master’s degree in Market Research/Business Administration or related field highly desired
- Market research experience within a business-to-business or business-to-consumer environment is required (3+ years)

Experience/Skills:

- Proven hands-on secondary research, analyses and reporting required
- Prior working experience in a multinational environment with teams spread across global regions required
- Proven ability to conduct detailed searches using a variety of public and private research tools required
- Comfortable networking across large, matrixed organizations required
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high quality, accurate results
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in other languages such as Mandarin highly desired.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills required
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Productivity Suite (including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint, and PowerBI)
- Familiarity of and experience with third-party market intelligence service providers such as Euromonitor, Global data, IHSMarkit, Wood Mackenzie, etc. required
