**Research Assistant**:

- Job Req ID: 1562- Employee Category: Research- Department: ISTD PillarThe Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is starting a project on designing mobile-friendly cartograms, a project to improve existing information visualization on mobile devices like tablets and phones. We are looking for a Research Assistant (full-time, contract) to assist with the development of the system and help with research and user studies to evaluate the system. The project is done in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technology and the National University of Singapore.

Job scope includes:

- Run user studies to evaluate the quality of the generated visualization graphics.
- Write reports and scientific papers about the system.
- Working in collaboration with the rest of the team, consisting of three professors, one research fellow and 1-2 other research assistants.

Qualification & Experience:

- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Knowledge of JavaScript/Web Development (Node, React, Vue).
- Knowledge of web browser extension development is a huge plus.
- Ability to program in C++ is a plus.
- Ability to work with LLM APIs (e.g. GPT3.5 or 4, Llama, Mistral, etc )
- Good writing skills.
