A school bus attendant's job scope includes the following responsibilities:

- **Ensuring Student Safety**:Assist students while boarding and exiting the bus. Ensure that students are seated properly and follow safety protocols, including wearing seat belts if applicable.
- **Monitoring Student Behavior**:Supervise students to maintain order and discipline during the bus ride. Address any disruptive behavior promptly and in accordance with school policies.
- **Providing Assistance**:Help younger students and those with special needs to their seats and ensure they are comfortable. Assist students with their belongings and ensure they do not leave anything behind on the bus.
- **Communication**:Communicate effectively with students, bus drivers, school staff, and parents as needed. Report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior or safety to the appropriate authorities.
- **Emergency Response**:Be prepared to act in case of emergencies, such as medical situations or accidents. Assist in evacuating students from the bus if necessary and provide first aid if qualified.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness and Order**:Ensure the bus is kept clean and orderly during and after the trip. Check for and report any maintenance issues to the bus driver or school administration.
- **Record Keeping**:Keep accurate records of student attendance and report absences or irregularities. Maintain documentation of any incidents or accidents that occur on the bus.
