We are looking for a **Primary School Art Specialist Teacher** with** starting date as of**01.08.2025**

**Job Purpose**

The role of the Art Specialist Teacher is to develop and deliver a visual arts curriculum, based on a continuum of skills, concepts and knowledge, that will complement the curriculum of German Section Primary.

**Aufgabenbereich**

Die Aufgabe der Fachlehrkraft für Kunst besteht darin, ein Curriculum für die bildende Kunst zu entwickeln und umzusetzen. Der Lehrplan orientiert sich an einer schrittweisen Vertiefung von Kompetenzen, Konzepten und Kenntnissen und ergänzt den Lehrplan der Grundschule der Deutschen Sektion.

**Key Accountabilities / Verantwortlichkeiten**:
- ** Strategic Leadership**:

- Develop an arts curriculum for Primary School
- Define a set of arts skills and competencies for Primary students in collaboration with the Deputy of Academics
- **
Teaching and learning**:

- Developing, planning and delivering age-appropriate art lessons for Grades 1 through 5
- Planning collaboratively with homeroom teachers to complement and support the curriculum
- Using a range and balance of teaching strategies, including those specific to arts
- Accommodating a range of ability levels and learning styles
- Ensuring that the classroom environment is well-managed, properly ordered and engaging
- Maintaining effective classroom management
- Evaluating the arts program collaboratively with teaching teams
- Displaying artwork around the campus and in school-wide visual art exhibitions
- Supporting special events to celebrate the arts, such as art week, art competitions and other events

Resources and support**:

- Establishing and maintaining art room resources, materials, procedures and processes
- Coordinating budget requirements and materials management with the Director of Primary and the Deputy of Academics
- Promoting relevant arts resources to students and teachers
- **
Community engagement and collaboration**:

- Attend and constructively contribute to staff and department/grade level meetings
- Supervising students during student breaks (as per FT teacher duties)
- Participating in and assisting with school events as required
- Continue own professional development through conference attendance, seminars, network meetings, journals, etc.

- Entwicklung eines Kunstcurriculums für die Grundschule
- Definition eines Kompetenzrahmens im Bereich Kunst für Grundschüler/innen in Zusammenarbeit mit der stellvertretenden Schulleitung für den akademischen Bereich

Unterricht und Lernen**:

- Entwicklung, Planung und Durchführung altersgerechter Kunststunden für die Klassen 1 bis 5
- Gemeinsame Unterrichtsplanung mit Klassenlehrkräften zur Ergänzung und Unterstützung des Lehrplans
- Einsatz einer Vielzahl ausgewogener Unterrichtsstrategien, einschließlich kunstspezifischer Methoden
- Berücksichtigung unterschiedlicher Leistungsniveaus und Lernstile der Schüler/innen
- Sicherstellung einer gut strukturierten, ansprechenden und lernförderlichen Klassenumgebung
- Anwendung eines effektiven Classroom-Managements
- Gemeinsame Evaluation des Kunstprogramms mit den pädagogischen Teams
- Präsentation von Schülerarbeiten auf dem Schulgelände und bei schulweiten Kunstausstellungen
- Unterstützung besonderer Veranstaltungen zur Förderung der Kunst, z. B. Kunstwoche, Wettbewerbe und andere Events

Ressourcen und Unterstützung**:

- Aufbau und Pflege von Materialien, Ressourcen, Arbeitsabläufen und organisatorischen Strukturen im Kunstraum
- Abstimmung von Budgetbedarfen und Materialverwaltung mit der Leitung der Grundschule und der stellvertretenden Schulleitung für den akademischen Bereich
