Over the years, iSEACO Group has successfully traded and operated more than 20 ships. We have our in house shipmanagement company, iSEACO Shipmanagement Pte. Ltd. iSEACO’s mission is to provide reliable ships and management for shipping lines and drybulk charters to promote a harmonious industry by adopting sustainable practices.
The Marine Superintendent will be part of a dynamic industry team, working across and supporting the various functions to ensure that the ISEACO’s vision and goals are met.
The key responsibilities and qualifying requirements of this position are as follows:
**Core Responsibilities**
- Assists in the implementation and upkeep of the Safety Management System will be required to conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Provides guidance to the Ship Captain onboard of nautical matters and conducts incident investigation onboard the ship.
- Updates relevant operation guidance to ensure compliance with the organisation’s risk management framework.
- Plan and conduct pre-vetting inspection onboard the ship.
- Plan and organise crew’s monitor training, fire drill, rescue and other emergency response
- Promotes and develops a culture of continuous improvement in pursuit of organisational objectives.
- Direct all emergency rescue work. Execute and organise an “offshore emergency plan” immediately if contact with vessel is lost
- Organise, approve and monitor vessel emergency response, emergency drills and other crew training
- Cooperate with and assist other departments and managers in safety management work
- Records, summarise, and keep check-up reports of vessel domestic ports and the flag of vessels
- Plan, organise and execute yearly internal audits and evaluations of security for vessels
- Assist General Manager in other assigned duties
**Skills and Qualifications**
- Degree in Maritime
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) (Captain) Class 1
- At least 5 years of working experience, include 2 years experience in bulk carrier or oil tanks (experienced berthing in US, Austria, or Europe)
- Strong management, organization, communication, and leadership skills
- Meticulous with keen attention to details
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Marine Superintendent is required to liaise with customers and business partners from / based in China. Knowledge of Mandarin is essential.
