Situated in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is housed in two national monuments—City Hall and former Supreme Court. Both have been beautifully restored and transformed into a magnificent 64,000 square metre venue.

Reflecting Singapore’s unique heritage and geographical location, the Gallery presents Southeast Asian art within the global context. We work with international museums such as Centre Pompidou, Musée d'Orsay, Tate Britain, National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT), and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), to positioning Singapore as a key node player in the global visual arts scene around the world.

**Job Description**:
As an Intern, you will work closely with the Curatorial, Research & Exhibitions team to support the development of Art in War, an upcoming exhibition relationship between visual culture and artistic practice, on the one hand, and large-scale systemic violence, on the other hand, within the context of modern Southeast Asia, and related discourses.

In addition, you will assist the Curatorial Programmes team on Painting with Light, a moving image festival presented by National Gallery Singapore. The festival is dedicated to films on artistic practices, institutions of art, and moments in art history that resonate in the present.

**Intern Responsibilities**
- Assist the curators to develop the artwork list
- Assist in collating research and archival materials
- Support administrative tasks related to exhibition planning
- Contribute to the development of curatorial and learning education programmes
- Work with the curatorial team to contribute to discussions related to the exhibition
- Assist with preparing, organising and filing information and materials for Painting with Light festival, which can include logistics, procurement and content matters. This will involve a fair amount of data entry.
- Assist in fact-checking content for various platforms. This will mainly pertain to the PwL festival microsite and other digital social platforms for curatorial programmes.
- Transcribe texts, interviews with filmmakers, speakers and other guests, where needed.
- Data entry for event feedback forms and being part of the front of house team for hosting various programmes.

**Requirements**:

- Available to commit full-time (Monday to Friday) for 6 months, starting from Aug
- Excellent research and project management abilities, detail-oriented and organised
- Strong writing and communication skills; Facilitation and public speaking skills are a plus
- Knowledge of or keen interest in art and cultural histories
- Proficient in MS Office tools (eg. PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc).
- Able to work swiftly to meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work independently but also participate as team player.
- Able to commit to some weekend work.
- Video editing and design skills are an added advantage. (e.g. Premier Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc)
- Good research and writing skills in art history or history is preferred
