Contract Manager, Life Claims Assessor

The position is responsible for managing Life claims assessment, Life and Health Operations.

You will be attached to the Life Claims section and reporting to a Team Lead. You will assess major claims, work closely with Admin staff to ensure operational targets are met and will undertake additional duties assigned. You will be expected to be cross-trained on other types of life claims and renders support as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess policy liability, compute and determine the claim amount payable based on policy cover and management guidelines for some claim types such as individual personal life insurance, ElderShield supplements, Dependants' Protection Scheme, etc.
- Recommend payment or rejection of claims and approve those within his/her authority limit, ensure timely and fair settlement of claims.
- Ensure that claims are settled within the target time set and pending claims are reviewed within the target period, by taking responsibility and ownership.
- Ensure that claims are processed in accordance to the service level agreements set within the organization and with external bodies such as CPF Board.
- Work closely and maintain good rapport with representatives (financial consultants, advisers, brokers, etc.), officers and staff of other departments to carry out his/her work effectively.
- Communicate effectively with claimants and related parties, reinsurers, auditors and external stakeholders such as the CPF Board, and hospitals, clinics, nursing homes in the course of claims administration or audits.
- Handle claim enquiries, service recovery, complaints and appeals and customer care matters
- Undertake any duties, including administrative duties, as assigned by Section manager or Head of Function.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree holder with five or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting
- Strong written and communication skills, committed team player
- Meticulous with good analytical, organisational skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently
- Customer centric
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Strong background in Life claim '“ technical claims assessment and claims management
- Strong policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to handle complex computations
