Senior Analyst, Analytics Catastrophe Modelling

Overview
Senior Analyst/Analyst, Catastrophe Management – based in Singapore servicing the wider Asia region. The role focuses on assisting clients in understanding their exposure to risk and determining the optimal reinsurance arrangements to meet risk, return and capital requirements. The team comprises actuaries, catastrophe modellers, engineers, financial analysts and GIS experts. Responsibilities involve interacting with analytics, brokers and clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
What The Day Will Look Like
Data auditing, formatting and compilation of insurance risk portfolios for catastrophe management using software platforms (MS Access, MS Excel, SQL).
Catastrophe modelling analysis using internal and externally licensed catastrophe models.
Catastrophe model results interpretation, testing and evaluation of models.
Application and communication of catastrophe modelling results for reinsurance design, pricing and placement.
Act as local territory contact, liaising with clients and colleagues to establish project objectives and outcomes, and managing these projects.
Build and leverage relationships with client staff to identify information gaps and improve suboptimal processes and analyses.
Deliver presentations and conduct training sessions, workshops and related assistance to support delivery of key Aon tools and products.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
Graduated in a science field such as earth science, physics, mathematics or related fields such as actuarial, finance or statistics.
3+ years’ experience in (re)insurance in an analytical role focusing on catastrophe modelling/management.
Strong experience with AIR, RMS and CoreLogic catastrophe modelling platforms, including operation and interpretation.
Strong computer skills in MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience in using Microsoft SQL preferred.
Experience in programming or scripting preferred.
GIS experience (ArcMap) preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels within the organization and various business units.
Ability to travel within the Asia region to facilitate client presentations, seminars and conferences as required.
