Business FunctionRisk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesPerform execution and generation of quarterly Economic Capital (EC) numbers, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives. This involves continuous improvement of associated processes for accuracy and efficiency.
Develop and maintain a clear and concise reporting process for Risk Appetite, ensuring effective communication to senior management on a quarterly basis. This involves crafting committee papers that highlight key EC insights and their implications for strategic decision-making.
Perform review and refinement of existing reporting processes, identifying areas of improvements. This includes driving the successful migration to a strategic platform, utilizing Python and other tools to streamline reporting.
Serve as a key resource for understanding the methodology, assumptions, and modelling techniques behind our EC framework. Communicate these to stakeholders, including management and validators, ensuring a clear understanding of the EC process and its implications.
RequirementsMin 7 years of relevant experience in a banking environment, ideally with exposure to financial modelling or data analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in programming languages: SQL, Python and Pyspark.
Experience with data management tools like MS Access and VBA is a plus.
