What the role is
This role will support the development and implementation of data analytics solutions that address STB's business needs. You will be involved in activities such as data migration, developing and maintaining dashboards, and implementing data pipelines and workflows. Key responsibilities include managing projects and vendors, requirements gathering, recommending suitable data analytics solutions, and performing data analysis. You will also participate in the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics initiatives, from requirements gathering through development, deployment and post-deployment support.
What you will be working on
Project Management: manage projects, work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver on data-related implementations within scope and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, data engineers, DevOps engineers, product managers, business analysts) to define, develop and deploy data solutions into analytics platforms and production systems.
Plan, execute and monitor project milestones and provide timely updates to management on progress and risks.
Data Analysis and Insights: support data scientists in conducting in-depth analysis to identify travel and visitor trends, patterns, and insights, including cross-datasets analyses and ad-hoc analytics.
Perform advanced analysis (e.g., predictive analytics and unstructured data analysis) and deliver ad-hoc analytics, reporting and data visualisations as relevant.
Design and develop new interactive dashboards or enhance existing visualisations, optimising user experience to support data-driven decision making.
Develop and Maintain Data Solutions: engage with users to gather requirements, analyse business needs, document specifications for data products and analytics solutions; review solution designs and migration approaches for alignment with business requirements.
Develop, monitor and maintain data pipelines and data solutions, track data quality metrics and implement improvements where needed.
Support testing and validation of fixes and enhancements, including executing test cases, validating data accuracy, and monitoring system performance post-deployment.

Proven track record in managing internal and external stakeholders and delivering on objectives within project timelines.
Experience working with large datasets, proficient in statistical and/or programming tools (e.g., R, Python), and database scripting languages (e.g., SQL), including data retrieval via APIs.
Experience as a data pipeline builder and data wrangler, optimizing data processes and building them from the ground up is advantageous.
Experience using Qlik Sense, QuickSight and/or other AWS services (e.g., Glue, SageMaker, RDS) is advantageous.
Academic background in a quantitative or engineering discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Informatics/Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related).
At least 3-5 years of project management experience coordinating internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Proven track record in managing vendors and delivering objectives on time; involvement in at least one medium to large-scale analytics implementation.
Strong planning, organisational and time management skills; ability to synthesize research and data across sources to derive meaningful conclusions.
Experience with structured and unstructured datasets; proficient in statistical programming tools (e.g., R, Python) and SQL.
Experience with DataOps and/or MLOps and deploying models and data workflows through DevOps processes is advantageous.
