What you will be working on
In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to stay relevant in your profession and to reflect evolving changes in the industry. You will maintain strong linkages with industry and schools and have opportunities for industry attachments or experience on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge and practices of your profession.
What we are looking for
You should be trained in Marine & Offshore Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the Marine & Offshore or Maritime sector.
You should also possess the following skills
Maintenance and operation of marine mechanical or electrical equipment and their standards.
Knowledge of systems such as marine engine, piping, electrical, electronic, hydraulic system and control technology would be an advantage.
Growth mindset in teaching pedagogy and passion for teaching - previous experience as an instructor/coach in this trade would be an advantage.
Added advantage if you possess any of the following knowledge or skill sets
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and other Alternative Fuels in Marine applications
Electrification of marine vessels
Coding knowledge in any programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, .NET, SQL Server, Ruby, HTML, etc.)
Experience sailing onboard foreign-going vessels as a marine engineering officer
Those with good and relevant experience can look forward to Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development opportunities to leadership positions in the Colleges or Headquarters.
