Description Research Associate in Carbon Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications– Position at UNSW School of Chemical Engineering, located in Kensington – Sydney, Australia. The OpportunityThe School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW invites applications for a Research Associate who will conduct research in nanomaterials, both independently and as part of a team. The role focuses on experiments across synthesis, optimisation, characterisation, catalytic analysis, and biological testing of nanomaterials, with the aim of advancing biomedical applications. Responsibilities Design and execute experiments on carbon nanomaterials synthesis, optimisation, and characterisation. Carry out catalytic analysis and biological testing of nanomaterials. Prepare scientific papers, reports, and presentations for international journals and conferences. Supervise HDR students and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Engage with industry partners and contribute to the development of research projects. Qualifications PhD in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or nanotechnology‐related area. Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations in the relevant field. Experience in synthesis, characterisation, catalysis and/or bio‐applications of carbon nanomaterials. Strong ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision. Proven teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills across disciplines. Commitment to UNSW's values and to maintaining health and safety standards. Salary & Benefits Salary: Level A – $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation.
