Job Description In July 2024, Delivery Hero SE merged its market-leading food delivery businesses, namely foodora and Yemeksepeti in Europe, and foodpanda in Asia. Together, all three businesses now form the second-largest organization within Delivery Hero, following Woowa in South Korea. Powered by Delivery Hero's Pandora platform technology, the newly formed organization will continue to be known by the respective brands to customers, vendors and partners. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal and regulatory advice to the senior management of the company and other relevant stakeholders, oversee compliance and risk management and will maintain and further develop our internal controls framework in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You are responsible for the Legal function, and you will oversee the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (“GRC”) activities across our 11 APAC markets, 6 markets within Central and Northern Europe, as well as Turkey. You will directly lead a mid-sized team of specialized lawyers in Singapore, Berlin and Istanbul, and you will indirectly manage a sizable team of legal, compliance and risk specialists within the markets you oversee. Your team will provide our business teams with legal and compliance advice on a broad range of operational, regulatory and commercial matters (including sales and partnerships, employment, competition, data privacy, IP, sanctions as well as financial market regulations) and you will work closely with our Product department as well as our Management team in further developing our business model to drive expansion across our geographical footprint. Your responsibilities include corporate housekeeping for various legal entities that we have incorporated in the jurisdictions where we operate and you will be supporting a broad range of complex corporate projects (incl. M&A and restructuring projects) in collaboration with various other teams and stakeholders within our organization. You will be overseeing complex legal disputes across our markets, you will manage external law firms and consultants and you represent our company in front of regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other external stakeholders. With your team, you will identify and monitor potential areas of risk for our company and you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to maintain and further develop risk management measures and internal control frameworks to mitigate our risk exposure to an adequate level. Your team supports the implementation and enforcement of group compliance policies and guidelines (e.g. related to anti-bribery, anti-corruption and data privacy), trains employees and overall promotes a strong culture of compliance and awareness throughout our organization. You will collaborate closely with the Global Headquarter of our shareholder in Berlin to ensure that group priorities and policies are effectively implemented and harmonized both at the regional and local levels. Qualifications You are admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction within the APAC region. You bring 10+ years of post-qualification work experience (experience both as external lawyer in a reputable law firm and as in-house lawyer is considered a plus) with at least 5 years of experience in a senior management role. You have substantial experience in the technology, e-commerce and/or online food delivery sector and you have a solid track record of working in an international environment, preferably in a matrix organization. You have experience in leading multi-jurisdictional teams and you are a self-motivated, business minded and solution driven person who provides legal and compliance advice in an accurate yet pragmatic and timely manner. You are business-proficient in English, you have a passion for transformation, legal operations and building efficient processes within your team and you have gained experience in developing and implementing risk management and internal controls frameworks. You have great communication skills and you are able to explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and to adapt to different cultural backgrounds. You are an absolute team player with excellent interpersonal skills and you are willing to work in a very fast-paced organization, handling multiple tasks and projects and liaising with multiple business and external stakeholders.
