Job Summary

This role involves managing day-to-day maintenance activities at the depot to ensure efficient use of resources and meet operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and fault-finding skills, as well as knowledge in electrical/electronic/pneumatic and air conditioning systems.

  • Coordinate all train activities for staff and contractors working in the depot based on train availability.
  • Organize train maintenance activities efficiently to prevent conflicts between parties involved.
  • Ensure sufficient trains are available for mainline services to meet operational requirements at all times.
  • Verify that all trains are cleared and 'fit for service' before handing them over to Operations.
  • Prioritize work activities to best meet the needs of the operating railway.
  • Organize work safely to avoid conflicting maintenance activities.
  • Delegate tasks to the CM team involving rolling stock maintenance activities.
  • Serve as an Incident Officer in the depot during incidents or accidents until the arrival of the AEIC/EIC.
  • Administer first aid to staff until the arrival of an ambulance.
  • Manage planned TAR or Urgent TAR in the depot.
  • Act as PC (Depot) for RS Train drivers to rescue stalled trains in the depot.

Requirements:

  • Polytechnic diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong commitment and sense of responsibility for the area of work under their charge.
  • Initiative and positive working attitude.
  • Able to make fast and sound decisions when working under pressure.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and works well in a team.
  • Able to work independently and achieve challenging targets with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work on 3 rotating shifts.
  • Able to identify colours.
