Mandarin Assistant Teacher
As a Mandarin Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of our students. This is a unique opportunity to join our educational team as a highly qualified and inspirational teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in creating and maintaining an attractive, tidy, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
- Liaise with parents and teachers to ensure the well-being and academic progress of students.
- Assist in the design of the Mandarin curriculum for the Early Years and take responsibility for the day-to-day teaching of the Mandarin Programme.
Teaching and Learning:
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering outstanding Mandarin lessons and classroom practice. You will be responsible for supervising students, completing student observations and feedback, and assisting the teacher in the delivery of the taught curriculum.
Organisation and Administration:
You will actively contribute to setting and maintaining daily routines, anticipate organisational needs, and ensure the correct supply of stationery materials. Liaison with parents around organisational issues will also be required.
Classroom Support:
Supporting the class teacher in creating displays and equipment, setting up and clearing away resources for students, and maintaining educational equipment used by the class are all key responsibilities of this role.
Communication and Reporting:
Give regular feedback to the teacher on educational and pastoral issues, inform the teacher of communication/letters from other departments, and communicate confidently with teachers and their assistants across all key stages.
General Duties:
This role may involve working in areas of the school in other job-related tasks as circumstances require. Maintaining a standard of personal image in keeping with the classroom role and on-going professional development are also essential.
Qualifications and Skills:
The successful candidate should possess a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Mandarin) and have valid teaching certification (L1 and/or L2). A proven track record of outstanding Mandarin teaching and classroom practice is essential.
