Senior Outdoor Nurse Practitioner, Outward Bound Singapore 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Overview The Medical Services and Training Unit runs medical centres across OBS’ campuses and deals with emergencies and injuries of OBS participants and staff. The Senior Outdoor Nurse Practitioner assesses and treats patients out at sea, in the field, and at the medical centre. MST also performs pre‐enrolment screening and provides wilderness medicine courses to OBS operational staff and regional partners. Responsibilities You will be part of the MST unit to ensure the efficient operations of the OBS Medical Centre by providing timely first‐line medical care to participants and staff. Expected duties include 24‐hour duties, night shifts, and on‐standby outside office hours with 1‐hour activation to site. You will work independently and provide medical care in remote austere environments across OBS campuses, at overseas expeditions, in the field, or at sea. You must trek in jungles, carry heavy loads up to 20 kg, manoeuvre stretchers across rugged terrain, and be exposed to outdoor elements. You will lead projects in medical training, quality improvement, operational capability development, budgeting and procurement, working with other OBS units, government agencies, vendors, and industry partners. Apply medical skills in a vastly different environment from hospitals or clinics. Learn and practice austere, wilderness pre‐hospital medicine. Work with youths on a national outdoor adventure programme in a dynamic environment with a wide range of medical conditions. Deal with adolescent health, population health policies, and pre‐enrolment screening relating to Primary Health Care issues. Teach, train, and design curriculum. Conduct research and data analytics. Participate in overseas expedition opportunities with other Outward Bound Centers internationally. Qualifications Singapore Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board. Minimum 8 years of experience in acute hospitals; pre‐hospital, emergency or critical care advantageous. Able to review and optimise complex operational processes in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Experience in leading and/or mentoring small teams. Experience in project work or contract management. Good writing, communication, and creative & critical thinking skills. Possess a macro perspective of issues with an eye for details. Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment. A team player who is effective, resourceful, and takes initiative at work. Able to engage both internal and external stakeholders. Display strong administrative capabilities with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
