About the Role The purpose of this role is to ensure liquid chartering agreements – oil, condensate, LPG and ammonia – deliver maximum value while supporting safe, reliable and lower‑carbon outcomes. You will implement chartering strategies that safeguard production assets, optimise returns and manage transportation risks, and provide commercial advice to Trading and Marketing teams. Duties & Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day commercial aspects of charter parties with ship owners, including invoice reconciliation, BOL, DLOI, off‑hire and bunker coordination. Ensure governance and process flows associated with chartering are followed and identify any changes required when business flows deviate from documented processes. Prepare cost estimates during marketing cycles and capture up‑to‑date market intelligence. Negotiate and charter vessels to achieve competitive rates and minimise demurrage exposure. Provide freight and shipping strategies and analysis as required, including intelligence gathering. Oversee freight contracts through their lifecycle until all invoice amounts are finalised and disputes settled. Manage freight operations issues escalated by others. Provide freight solutions for cargo marketing and participate in marketing tactics discussions. Manage relationships with ship owners and brokers. Maintain freight book and prepare shipping inputs into liquids shipping plans (DAP, DES, CFR). Skills & Experience 5–10+ years of experience in broking, ship owning, chartering or similar roles with demonstrable achievements. Strong commercial and operational shipping knowledge in oil and LPG segments. Ammonia experience preferred. Experience in contracts and procurement, customer relations or equivalent. Knowledge of terminal operations and commercial arrangements. Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, able to work closely with team members in high‑pressure situations. Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines across multiple time zones. Qualifications Degree in Law, Finance, Commerce, Engineering or Maritime preferred.
