Overview
We are looking for a Financial Systems Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI and a solid understanding of financial processes. This role will primarily focus on coordinating the financial aspects of Power BI system implementation and development projects, translating business needs into practical, data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Lead and serve as a key liaison between the Finance & Accounting department, IT and external consultants during Power BI implementation and development projects.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports and visualizations using Power BI.
Connect and transform data from multiple sources including SQL databases, Excel, cloud platforms, and APIs.
Build and optimize data models, implement DAX measures, and ensure performance efficiency.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
Implement row-level security (RLS), data refresh schedules, and government best practices.
Create and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, ETL process documentation, dashboard user manuals, and SOPs.
Develop training materials and user guides for internal users to navigate and interpret Power BI reports.
Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and aligned with organizational standards.
Qualifications & Prerequisites
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Power BI development, including participation in at least one full-cycle of implementation.
Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Power Platform and familiar with Power BI Report Server and REST APIs.
Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling techniques.
Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Strong time management and project organizational abilities.
Strong attention to details, able to work independently and think critically.
