THE ROLE
Virtu’s Crypto trading desk is a newly formed, global team focusing on digital asset and digital asset derivative trading. The team leverages our advanced trading technology to develop and enhance strategies and trading operations across proprietary and client-facing businesses.
Our Crypto Traders are risk managers responsible for maintaining system and strategy performance, providing operational support, and managing high-performance algorithmic trading strategies. Responsibilities include:
Supervising and optimizing strategy performance
Managing intraday market and credit risk
Monitoring back-office operations and site reliability
Communicating and coordinating with the global Crypto trading team
The ideal candidate is dependable, trustworthy, and confident in overseeing trading activities during atypical hours. They will work closely with software engineers to refine trading strategies and technologies. Traders at Virtu become experts in trading technology, market microstructure, and liquidity dynamics. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-growing desk and learn about Crypto trading at a leading market maker.
THE CANDIDATE
1-3 years of experience in a financial institution; Crypto experience is a plus but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred; strong graduates will also be considered.
Programming experience required (Python, SQL, Java, or C++).
Dependable, trustworthy, self-motivated, and disciplined.
Strong quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude.
Effective communication skills, precise and agile.
Proactive problem solver who can identify issues and create solutions independently.
THE PROCESS
Applicants will undergo an initial screening followed by an online programming test via HackerRank to assess coding ability.
